Fabulous Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

One of the best recipes to have in your arsenal, is a super tasty spaghetti sauce.  Spaghetti absolutely needs a good sauce, otherwise it is just sad noodles in tomato sauce...which is never a fun time.

This spaghetti sauce is superb!  Rich, meaty, garlicky and delicious!  It also freezes well, which is great since it's just Bruce and I at home, and we can't eat that much spaghetti sauce in one sitting.  It'll be nice to be able to pull some of it out of the freezer for lasagna or stuffed shells later on.

This sauce simmers on the stove (or in your crock pot!) for about 5 hours for a wonderful, flavorful sauce that is hard to resist!

Fabulous Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

2 lbs ground turkey
1 medium onion (chopped)
48 oz crushed tomatoes
12 oz tomato paste
2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1/4 c. parsley
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

In a large skillet, brown the turkey with the chopped onion, then drain the grease.

Place the remaining ingredients, along with the turkey and onion into a large pot (or your crock pot) and simmer on low for 5 hours, stirring occasionally.

Serve over spaghetti, stuffed shells, or in lasagna.
