As a kid, I didn't really understand the significance of having an outlet mall close by, and I suppose I took it for granted, never really knowing why people would travel from miles away to come to our small city just to go to the mall. Then, I moved to a place that didn't have an outlet mall...and it was, admittedly, a disappointing shopping experience.
BUT, the small shopping center did have one thing that our "fancy" outlet mall did not. An Orange Julius. I love Orange Julius. I remember on the rare occasion, getting one from the actual store on a trip or two into Issaquah, but mostly, as a kid, we made our own Orange Julius' at home.
This recipe is so refreshing, and just as good as those made in the store. So save yourself a few pennies, and make them in your own blender!
Ingredients:
6 oz frozen orange juice concentrate
1 c milk
1 c water
1⁄4 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
8 ice cubes
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a blender and pulse until the ice cubes have broken up and everything is smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses. Drink immediately.
Enjoy!
