I will admit, they are tasty little bites of warm goodness. My mom had a decent "copy-cat" recipe for these that she would make on occasion when I was growing up, but I did not have the recipe, and after a number of failed attempts to create a successful replica of the original recipe, Bruce has deemed these biscuits "delicious"...that is, once his mouth was empty.
Cheddar Garlic Biscuits
Ingredients:
2 c. flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/8-1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (depending on taste)
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. butter (melted and cooled)
4 Tbs butter (melted)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp parsley
Directions:
Preheat oven to 475.
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl. Stir in cheese, buttermilk and melted butter until thoroughly incorporated.
Drop by spoonful onto a greased or silpat lined cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine butter, garlic powder and parsley. Brush mixture onto hot biscuits.
Enjoy!
