Vanilla Sauce

This vanilla sauce is used over the Golden Apple Pinwheels that was posted earlier, but could be used to top other various desserts of your choice!

Vanilla Sauce


3/4 c. sugar
2 Tbs flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 c. water
2 Tbs butter
1 tsp vanilla paste (vanilla extract is fine)


In a small saucepan, mix together sugar, flour, salt and water.

Cook on medium-high heat until the sauce boils and begins to thicken.  Remove from heat and add the butter and vanilla.  Stir until the butter is melted.
