When I was at the store last week, I was perusing the various extracts, and saw a "pumpkin spice' extract. Intrigued, I bought it, figuring I could find some way to use it. And this morning I decided to make pumpkin spice syrup to go with our Cinnamon Belgian Waffles.
It is a light syrup with a faint pumpkin spice flavor that is a charming addition to any waffle.
Pumpkin Spice Syrup
Ingredients:
5 Tbs unsalted butter
1 c. heavy cream
3 Tbs brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice extract
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and cook on medium-high until it begins to boil. Cook until thickened.
Enjoy!
